The San Diego Alzheimer's Disease Resource Center for Minority Aging Research (AD-RCMAR)
A partnership between UC San Diego and San Diego State University
AD-RCMAR SCIENTISTS
Each year, the Center supports three or four early-career scientists by funding a small or pilot research project focused on ADRD; and providing them with mentorship and career development support. Pilot projects supported by the AD-RCMAR vary, whether looking at biological pathways of stress and neurocognitive aging among Hispanics/Latinos; developing a tailored approach to investigating cognitive resilience focused on physical and mental activities; or evaluating perceptions and attitudes by Hispanic older adults about biomarkers and Alzheimer’s disease research. Thus far, our San Diego AD-RCMAR has been able to provide support to 22 AD-RCMAR Scientists.
